American Association of Kidney Patients
The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is a national non-profit organization founded by kidney patients for kidney patients. The organization strives to educate and improve the health and well-being of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, those on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplant recipients.

 

American Kidney Fund
The mission of the American Kidney Fund is to fight kidney disease through direct financial support to patients in need; health education; and prevention efforts.

 

National Kidney Foundation
The National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) website  contains a wealth of information and includes an A to Z Health Guide.

 

National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases
NKDEP is an initiative of the National Institutes of Health, designed to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by kidney disease and its complications. NKDEP strives to raise awareness of the seriousness of kidney disease, the importance of testing those at high risk (those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney failure), and the availability of treatment to prevent or slow kidney disease.

 

Kidney Community Emergency Response
The Kidney Community Emergency Response (KCER) Coalition provides technical assistance to ESRD Networks, Medicare organizations, and other groups to ensure timely and efficient disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for the kidney community. The KCER Coalition strives to provide disaster preparedness resources to save lives, improve outcomes, empower patients and families, educate healthcare workers, build partnerships with stakeholders, promote readiness in the community, and support the ESRD Network Program.

 

Network 8
The mission of Network 8 is to facilitate the continuous improvement of area ESRD health care systems through data analysis, quality management and rehabilitation initiatives, special studies, patient involvement and community outreach.

 

American Society of Nephrology
More than 11,000 physicians and scientists, all committed to preventing kidney disease and making life better for patients, work together as members of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN). Through advocacy, ASN informs policymakers about issues of importance to kidney doctors and their patients. ASN also funds research, convenes world-renowned meetings and generates educational tools that enable nephrologists to be most effective.

American Society of Transplantation
The American Society of Transplantation (AST) was founded in 1982 and is an organization of more than 3,000 transplant professionals dedicated to research, education, advocacy and patient care in transplantation. Our goal is to offer a forum for the exchange of knowledge, scientific information and expertise in the field of transplantation.

 

United Network for Organ Sharing
The UNOS Organ Center is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to facilitate organ sharing among transplant centers, organ procurement organizations and histocompatibility laboratories across the U.S.

 

American Nephrology Nurses’ Association
The mission of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA) is to advance nephrology nursing practice and positively influence outcomes for individuals with kidney disease through advocacy, scholarship, and excellence.

 

PKD Foundation
The PKD Foundation is the only organization, worldwide, dedicated to fighting polycystic kidney disease (PKD). The mission of the PKD Foundation is to: “Promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease and improve the lives of all it affects.”

 

Urology Care Foundation
The AUA Foundation is the nation’s leading urologic health charity that promotes research, education and advocacy. Our mission is to improve prevention, detection, treatment and ultimately, cure urologic diseases.
